SSH Workbench downloads statistics

SSH Workbench is a remote workbench inside the IDE: SSH hosts, a terminal, and a file tree for SFTP, FTP, FTPS, and WebDAV. One Settings page holds SSH hosts and remote servers together. A remote server is just one of your hosts plus a protocol.

Connect

• Password, key pair, or your OpenSSH config • Import / export ~/.ssh/config • Jump hosts (including a chain), HTTP / SOCKS proxy, or the IDE’s own proxy • Passwords stay in the IDE PasswordSafe

Files

• Browse, open, edit, drag-and-drop upload and download • Transfers window: progress, speed, cancel, retry — a folder is one row you can expand • Search on the server by name, contents, or both • Path bar to jump to any remote path; sync and compare with local (needs a path mapping) • Upload on save; overwrite prompt when the remote file is newer • Change permissions with an Owner / Group / Others grid

Terminal

• SSH terminal tabs from a saved host

AI agents (optional, 2025.2+ with the IDE MCP Server plugin)

• Tools to set up hosts, move files, run commands, and type into an open SSH terminal

How to start

Settings → Tools → SSH Workbench — add an SSH host, then a remote server that uses it. The Remote Servers tool window opens the tree. Tools → Connection to SSH opens a terminal.

If FTPS fails with “522 SSL connection failed session reuse required”, add these lines to the IDE .vmoptions file:

-Djdk.tls.useExtendedMasterSecret=false

-Djdk.tls.client.enableSessionTicketExtension=false
