About QSS Toolkit
QSS Toolkit - Qt Style Sheet Support for JetBrains IDEs
QSS Toolkit adds dedicated Qt Style Sheet editing support to JetBrains IDEs. It helps you write, validate, navigate, preview colors, manage reusable palettes, and test QSS changes directly from your editor.
Version 2.1 - May 2026
• Live Preview Tools: Generate PySide, PyQt, or C++ Qt helpers that reload a selected .qss file when it is saved. • QSS Colors: Improved saved color folders with search, drag/drop organization, multi-select actions, and import/export support. • Editor Workflow: Added context menu actions for inserting colors, saving selected colors, and enabling live preview. • Syntax and Compatibility: Expanded Qt stylesheet support, HSL/HSV color handling, validation fixes, and 2026 IDE compatibility.
Key Features
• QSS Language Support: Syntax highlighting, parsing, code folding, structure view, comments, bracket matching, and smart editing for .qss files. • Completion for Qt Stylesheets: Suggestions for Qt widgets, properties, values, sub-controls, pseudo-states, and chained selectors such as QScrollBar::handle:vertical. • Real-time Validation: Detects unknown properties, invalid values, incorrect units, malformed declarations, and common QSS mistakes while you edit. • Qt-aware Syntax Handling: Supports Qt-specific properties, qproperty-* declarations, palette roles, gradients, icon properties, and template placeholders such as {{BUTTON_COLOR}}. • Visual Color Tools: Shows color previews, opens a color picker from gutter icons, and preserves useful color formats when editing values. • Reusable Color Folders: Save, search, rename, edit, organize, drag/drop, copy, import, export, and insert reusable colors from the QSS Colors tool window. • Editor Color Actions: Use the editor context menu to insert saved colors or save a selected color without leaving the file. • Live Preview Tools: Generate small PySide, PyQt, or C++ Qt helper files that reload a selected .qss file in a running app after you add the setup call once. • Color Format Support: Works with hex, RGB/RGBA, HSL/HSLA, HSV/HSVA, palette colors, transparent values, and Qt gradients. • Universal JetBrains IDE Support: Works in CLion, PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, Rider, and other IntelliJ Platform IDEs.
Quick Start
Open any .qss file to use highlighting, completion, validation, navigation, and color tools. Use the QSS Colors tool window for reusable colors, and right-click in the editor to insert colors, save colors, or enable live preview.
