Lightrun is a suite of tools for adding real-time information to your running applications. It allows you to instrument code-level logs, snapshots and metrics at runtime - no hotfixes, hot-swapping or redeployments necessary.

Using Lightrun, you can:

• See the full content (variables, arrays and objects) of any stack frame along a user’s journey through your application - without stopping the running process

• Measure the size of data structures in memory without predefined, code-level instrumentation • Count the number of times an arbitrary line in the code was executed • Investigate why a long-running big data worker died - with the full context of the thrown exception • Evaluate any expression, anywhere in the code, without changing the state of the running application or causing side effects

• Get real-time alerts in Slack (or any application with a webhook) for every piece of instrumentation added

Lightrun features

Lightrun's IDE plugin enables the addition of real-time, code-level information to your running production applications. After a short download and configuration process, you would be able to:

• Add log lines - including the evaluation of expressions - without redeploying, recompiling or even restarting the application

• Capture a snapshot (our version of a "virtual" breakpoint) to your running applications - without stopping the running program

• Add real-time metrics that track any type of numerical value in the code - from simple variable to complex calculations • Measure the execution time of a selected method without additional instrumentation • Measure the execution time of an arbitrary block of code • Export any numeric expression (e.g data.size() ) into a metric
