Microsoft Security DevOps Read Only: Connects GitHub repositories to Microsoft Defender / Microsoft Security Exposure Management with read-only access.
The purpose of this GitHub App is to enable the GitHub connector experience for Microsoft Defender / Microsoft Security Exposure Management. The customer journey is that a GitHub organization owner installs and authorizes the app for their organization/repositories. Microsoft Defender then uses the authorized GitHub APIs to provide the security integration and enable security scanning of the onboarded repositories.
There are two permission levels in the connector experience. The read/write app is intentionally more highly permissioned because it supports scenarios where Defender needs to take actions or integrate security findings into GitHub developer workflows, including creating/updating issues and pull requests, posting checks/security findings, and managing relevant security information. This app is the RO (read only) app that doesn't make any changes.
