About Roubo for GitHub
AI coding agents are fast. Running them in parallel isn't, because every agent wants the same ports, the same database, the same working directory. Roubo gives each GitHub issue its own bench: an isolated git worktree, dedicated ports, a database container, and an AI coding agent. Spin up five benches and ship five PRs at once, then clear the worktrees when you're done. GitHub issue in, pull request out.
Capabilities
• Spin up isolated benches per GitHub issue. Each gets a git worktree, dedicated ports, a database container, and an AI coding agent. • Auto-assign incoming issues to benches and inject the matching blueprint based on issue type. • Launch your IDE, browser, or terminal pre-pointed at any bench's workspace. • Run inspections (build, lint, test) across benches before PRs go out. • Sync work-unit PRs back to the originating issue automatically.
Benefits
• Parallel shipping: Ship five PRs at once instead of single-threading through your backlog. • No collisions: Every bench has its own ports, database, and worktree, so agents never fight for resources. • Zero setup friction: One action provisions the worktree, allocates ports, starts services, and primes the agent. • Clean teardown: Clear a bench and everything is released. No drift, no cruft. • Issue-aware: Blueprints inject the right context per issue type, so the agent starts oriented, not guessing.
Getting Started
Requirements:
• Cost: Free and open source under Apache 2.0. • System: macOS today. Windows and Linux planned. • Agent: Claude Code. More AI coding agents planned. • Repo: Any GitHub repo with a roubo.yaml config. • Other: Node.js 24.14+. Docker for database components. • Permissions: Read access to the repos and issues you want to bench.
Setup:
• Install the Roubo desktop app for macOS. • Connect your GitHub account via OAuth. • Register a project by pointing Roubo at a repo with a roubo.yaml. • Pick an issue, create a bench, and Claude Code gets to work.
Example Workflow
• A new issue lands: "Add CSV export to the reports page." • Roubo creates a bench and injects the blueprint for that issue type. • The bench provisions a worktree, allocates ports, starts the database, and launches Claude Code. • Open the bench's IDE from Roubo. Review, iterate, ship. • Claude Code opens a PR linked to the original issue.
