About QuietMerge
QuietMerge reviews your Renovate and Dependabot Terraform/OpenTofu PRs automatically: it runs terraform plan in your own CI, reads the changelog, then auto-merges the provable no-ops and posts a plain-English verdict on anything that could break.
Dependabot opens them. QuietMerge closes them.
Renovate and Dependabot open Terraform and OpenTofu version-bump PRs all day. Around 95% change nothing — but a human still has to review every one, so estates rot and the occasional breaking upgrade slips through. QuietMerge is the judgement layer that clears the queue.
Capabilities
• Verifies in your own CI — runs terraform plan inside your workflow, so your cloud credentials never leave your account. QuietMerge only ever sees a redacted plan summary. • Reads the changelog — scans provider and module release notes for breaking changes before deciding. • Auto-merges provable no-ops — bumps that change nothing merge themselves (opt-in, off by default). • Posts a plain-English verdict — anything that could break gets a clear comment: what changes, what might break, what to do next.

Getting Started
Requirements:
• Plan: Free. • User Permissions: repo admin to install the App and add a repository secret. • Availability: Generally available.
Setup Process:
• Install QuietMerge on your Terraform repositories. • On the setup page, add the ingest token as a repository secret named QUIETMERGE_INGEST_TOKEN (one-click link provided). • Add the verification workflow (one-click button), then commit.
Once installed, the next Terraform bump PR your bot opens is verified automatically and gets a verdict — usually within minutes.
