About Tana for GitHub
Tana for GitHub turns the work you discuss into action on your repos. Tana is an agentic meeting platform where AI agents do what you talk about, not just record it. Connect GitHub and ask Tana to create and update issues, open, review, and merge pull requests, comment, search, and read code for context — or hand an issue to GitHub Copilot's coding agent. The bug or task raised in a meeting is filed in GitHub by the time the call ends.
Capabilities
• Create and update issues (title, body, labels, assignees) from a meeting or chat • Open, review, and merge pull requests, and comment on issues and PRs • Search issues and repositories, and read files and directories for context • Hand an issue to GitHub Copilot's coding agent • Embed meeting screenshots in the issue; when a PR later closes an issue filed from Tana, the PR link is added back onto the source document in Tana
Benefits
• Less after-meeting busywork: the bugs, tasks, and decisions you discuss are filed before the call ends, not written up later. • Context preserved: issues carry the discussion, screenshots, and the right labels and assignees. • Fits your existing setup: no new process — Tana acts on the repositories and workflows you already use.
Getting Started
Requirements:
• A Tana account and a GitHub account you can connect. • You authorize the connection per user from inside Tana. Depending on your GitHub organization's settings, an org owner may need to approve access.
Setup:
• In Tana, open Settings, then Integrations. • Find GitHub, click Connect, and authorize access. • Ask Tana to act on GitHub in any meeting or chat.
Example Prompts
Ask Tana in a meeting or chat:
• "Create a GitHub issue in acme/web for the login bug we just discussed, and label it bug." • "Open a draft pull request from the fix branch into main." • "Search our repositories for open issues about session expiry." • "Create an issue for the flaky checkout test and hand it to GitHub Copilot."
