Take full control of Instagram videos and Reels.
Tired of Instagram's limited video controls? IG Media Controls adds a full set of media controls to every video on Instagram — Reels, feed posts, Explore, and single post views.
Features: • Play / Pause with a single click • Seekable progress bar with current time and duration • Volume slider with mute toggle — your volume preference is saved • Playback speed control (0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x) • Skip forward and backward (5s or 10s, configurable) • Controls auto-hide when not hovering — clean, non-intrusive design
Design: • Sleek, dark semi-transparent overlay that blends with Instagram's UI • Appears on hover, fades out when you move away • Doesn't interfere with Instagram's normal functionality
Preferences that stick: • Your volume and mute state are remembered across videos and sessions • Choose your default playback speed • Set skip interval to 5 or 10 seconds • Option to always show controls without hovering • One-click toggle to enable or disable the extension
Privacy: • No data collection — preferences are stored locally on your device • Only runs on instagram.com • No analytics, no tracking, no third-party connections
Works reliably on Instagram's dynamic interface. Lightweight, fast, and built for daily use.

Data source
Covers every Chrome Web Store extension with at least 100 users, found through the store's public sitemap. User counts are read from public listing pages. The 10% most-used extensions are refreshed daily, the next 40% weekly and the next 40% monthly; the least-used 10% are not refreshed. Google displays rounded user counts (and caps the display at 10,000,000+), so small changes may not be visible. Rating counts above 1,000 are rounded (e.g. 1.6K).
