About Universal Cookie Rejector
Automatically rejects cookie consent banners in 38 languages. Never clicks "Accept". Works offline; nothing leaves your browser.
Universal Cookie Rejector says "no" to cookie consent banners for you, automatically, on the sites you visit.
When a site asks you to accept cookies, it finds the option that refuses them ("Reject all", "Necessary only", "Continue without accepting", or switching every option off in the settings panel) and uses it. It never clicks "Accept".
HOW IT WORKS • Understands banners it has never seen before: it reads the buttons in 38 languages instead of relying on a site's code, so it keeps working when sites redesign their banners. • Handles two-step banners: opens the settings, switches every option off, and saves. • Afterwards it checks the result with the site's own consent system, and corrects it if the site recorded the wrong answer. • Restores scrolling and removes the dark overlays that banners leave behind.
WHEN THERE IS NO FREE "REJECT" Some sites only offer "Accept", or ask you to pay to refuse tracking ("pay-or-consent" walls). The extension never pays and never accepts: it hides the banner instead, so no consent is given. You can switch this off in the settings and answer those walls yourself.
BUILT TO NEVER SAY YES • Never clicks "Accept", "Subscribe", "Pay" or "Sign in" buttons. • Never follows links to other pages. • Leaves sign-in screens, newsletters and other site dialogs alone. • If a site keeps reloading its banner, it stops and hides the banner instead.
YOU STAY IN CONTROL • Pause it on any site with one switch (popup, right-click menu or settings page). • "Reject now" button and Alt+Shift+R keyboard shortcut. • See what happened on each page, plus statistics on the settings page. • "Copy debug info" in the popup if a site ever misbehaves.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens inside your browser. No servers, no analytics, no accounts, no ads. Your settings sync through your own Chrome profile; statistics stay on your device.
WHY IT NEEDS ITS PERMISSIONS • "Read and change all your data on all websites": cookie banners appear on every kind of site, so the extension needs to see and click them wherever you browse. It only looks for consent banners, and nothing is stored about the pages or sent anywhere. • Storage: your settings and local statistics. • Context menus: the right-click "Reject cookie banner now" and "Pause / resume on this site" items.
Tested on more than 400 popular websites across the UK and Europe. If a banner slips through, use "Copy debug info" in the popup and include it in your report.

Covers every Chrome Web Store extension with at least 100 users, found through the store's public sitemap. User counts are read from public listing pages. The 10% most-used extensions are refreshed daily, the next 40% weekly and the next 40% monthly; the least-used 10% are not refreshed. Google displays rounded user counts (and caps the display at 10,000,000+), so small changes may not be visible. Rating counts above 1,000 are rounded (e.g. 1.6K).
