About Stop Social Media Scrolling
Disables scrolling on selected social media websites so you spend less time doomscrolling.
Break the doomscrolling habit.
Stop Social Media Scrolling stops scrolling on the social media feeds you choose. When you open a feed out of habit, nothing moves, so every extra minute is a decision, not a reflex.
PICK THE FEEDS TO BLOCK • Works on 7 popular social media sites, and you choose which ones to block • Choose your sites from the extension's popup or the settings page • Blocks mouse wheel, trackpad, touch and keyboard scrolling • Inboxes and chats stay usable on most supported sites
NEED A BREAK? TAKE IT ON PURPOSE When you try to scroll, a "Scrolling paused" banner appears. If you really need the feed, allow scrolling for 5 minutes, 15 minutes or the rest of the day. Blocking turns back on by itself afterwards.
STRICT MODE: NO EASY WAY OUT Turn on Strict Mode to remove those quick overrides. The only way to scroll again is to change your settings.
SEE EVERY SCROLL YOU DIDN'T TAKE The popup and settings page count your blocked scroll attempts, in total and for each site.
NO ACCOUNT NEEDED There's nothing to sign up for. Your settings sync with your Chrome profile, and your stats stay on this device.
AVAILABLE IN 7 LANGUAGES The language is picked automatically from your browser.
GETTING STARTED

Data source
Covers every Chrome Web Store extension with at least 100 users, found through the store's public sitemap. User counts are read from public listing pages. The 10% most-used extensions are refreshed daily, the next 40% weekly and the next 40% monthly; the least-used 10% are not refreshed. Google displays rounded user counts (and caps the display at 10,000,000+), so small changes may not be visible. Rating counts above 1,000 are rounded (e.g. 1.6K).
